Is this the beginning of the end for movie theaters?

When movie theaters reopened in some parts of the country, it was pretty obvious that not everybody was going to be comfortable with going right away. And I can tell you, in a state like California, most of the people are not going to be comfortable going to the theaters even after we're given the all clear to sort of go back to our regular routine

A huge dose of reality hit here.

Taylor, from a business perspective, this news was absolutely huge. It's huge because you're almost guaranteeing the beginning of the end of a certain history, and I would have to dig into it more. So what I would want to know is, are movie theaters, for the most part, when they're owned, do they pay rent?

And I got to the stage where I started going to cinemas in the middle of the day when nobody else was there and trying to get the whole cinema to myself. And the other thing I enjoyed about that was being able to laugh outrageously in parts of the movie that other people wouldn't be doing and knowing that that wasn't going to impact on somebody else's viewing experience. So as we started watching the streaming services at home, it's so much more comfortable

Yeah. You know, Georgie D, I haven't really had many negative experiences at the movie theaters. I mean, there's the occasional talker. One time there was almost a fight in the theater. I was at Guardians of the Galaxy was premiering, and some people just had words with each other, and it escalated. But aside from that, it's usually really pleasant. And there's like a trend now in America where they install these leather recliners. So everybody has a leather recliner

And I think that it's only a matter of time. I said this earlier before Disney and Universal and all these other companies follow suit and announce that they're going to go digital as well as a side note. I was talking about this with my brother earlier as well. We talk a lot. I was reading through the list of the films that Warner Brothers are releasing, and we were talking about how it really sucks that there are so many unoriginal films being made these days

Very disappointing

Taylor, this is so disappointing to know, especially for me, because I am one of those people who realized very late in life how you know, not how how rather, the magic of the movie going experience watching movies and theaters, probably. I think it's been the last two years that I have started. My husband and me. We started avidly watching movies in theaters and enjoying the experience

Hi Srija. Yeah. You know, you you bring up, you know, the experience of going to the movie with someone you love, you know, whether it's your husband or your parents or your brother or sister or your best friends. You know, I don't know if this is similar in all parts of the world, but certainly in America. Going to the movies on the weekends with your friends as a kid, as a teenager was something that I did nonstop
