Albert Camus’ Act of Rebellion quote

article image placeholderUploaded by @KurtWaterstradt
Albert Kumoo said, the only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. I personally like this quote, but at the same time frame, I think in terms of the modern world, there's plenty of parts of the world that are unfree, but even the ones that are quote free are. We think about the rules we have to follow, the taxes, all the trappings of modern society that we signed on for

And then once you're in that space of acceptance, which feels very free, I think only then can you be of deep service to other people by showing up in the world with that energy of capacity, because you're already taken care of inside. We're living in a time, also that we're exposed to so much inequity. Like you said, there's so much suffering. I was just talking on a swell about turkey and the horrible earthquake

I have a friend who was telling me about that as well. I think that's where the struggle in our modern society comes from because before 100 years ago, everything was very the way in which information flowed was through a radio, through newspaper, telegrams. It was very limited bandwidth for people to know anything outside of their immediate community. And I think that's where the bigger struggle in today comes from

And yoga is a beautiful way to help people transcend their mundane lives. And I think you're already on your way to helping people be better if you're teaching them yoga, because yoga is spiritualism, right? Anyway, let me know what you think

Because in the end, it's just you break free from this tyranny and pursuit of value and meaning and purpose and live free. So he would be at odds with somebody like Victor Frankel. And this has given me a lot of good ideas to write. So my blog has been sitting empty for a bit. I think I'm ready to write blog post inspired by you. Thank you so much

But I do believe we're guided by our choices and the letting go in yoga, in the yamas, the first limit of yoga, the yamas, the last of the Yamaha is a party graham which is non possessiveness. Yeah, you learn to let go, let go with every breath. Let go of the moment

I love this quote, and I cannot agree with you more. There's a story that a comedian told one time, and it says every fifth grade class has a smelly kid. Chand if you don't remember the smelly kid in your fifth grade class, chances are it was you. You and I kind of relate that with the other saying that says, society was built on the back of slaves

There is, in fact, in Camus writing, a terrible and nearly impossible, even a debilitating quality to responsibility and the responsibility to live and act authentically. We can see this in his work, The Rebel, where his more revolutionary voice spoke out against the injustices against human rights. It's very clear what he thinks about what freedom entails, and he poses that there's a conflict between justice and freedom and that there needs to be balance

I think when I thought of freedom, I was thinking more in the sense of how we used to the individuality and the selfreliance and how easily we were able to move through the world without all of the systems, without all of the things that impede what is our natural freedom. There was a book written by Sebastian Younger, which was actually entitled Freedom, and he and a couple of friends walk the rail lines between two points, and they spend a year doing this at different times throughout the year

I mean, most people can't even purify their own water, much less hunt for food or make their own clothes or even get raw materials and make cloth out of. So I'm with younger. There I don't also find it easy to see a path to freedom and community. And I'm going to go back to Camus Bestie. There Sartre, who said, h*** is the other, because where there are people, there are politics
