Surnames, the Icelandic way.

But I was like, how do we change this? Also with respect to when someone gets married and who takes whose name, and how do you make that less complicated instead of a long list of hyphenations and which order to put them in and so on. Bottom line, I don't have any answers yet, but I stumbled across a post, I think, on Instagram a few weeks ago that was really, really interesting of how Iceland does some of this

And one of them that she posted today was that they wear their wedding ring on their right hand and that it symbolizes more connectedness and love for one another, so on and so forth. And I thought to myself, okay, that is so cool. As of now, I'm inspired to search on Google why we in the United States have made the decision for it to be on the left hand. That's interesting to me. I I actually like the way how they do their last names

Okay, first the wedding ring thing is so cool because I remember when I first learned that this was done differently somewhere. I can't remember where I learned it. I just first I thought it was so interesting, but then I started reading some, like, fantasy books and they started incorporating other ideas. And then I began to wonder how much of these are real or and how much have made up

Okay, this was really a quick search, and I'm sure there's so much more out there, but I found some interesting tidbits that I thought were so cool. Some might be more expected. Like in Brazil, apparently, when a couple gets engaged, they each wear a ring on their ring finger of the right hand, but then during the ceremony, they switch it to the ring finger of the left hand. And there seem to be different traditions and different parts of India

Hey, Christina. Thank you so much for doing a quick search and sharing those results. That is quite fascinating. That or how the different cultures signify or demonstrate their union or for others to identify that they are married and committed to someone. It's completely fascinating. I no longer have the desire to be married. I want more of an Oprah Winfrey and Steadman. What is Steadman's last name anyway? Only know him by a first name basis or know of him by a first name basis
