I'm not saying that we can't communicate in ways that are still kind. We can. But does it always have to be within these certain structures of appropriateness of adult, quote unquote behavior? Kids don't operate within frameworks of artifice, right? They love themselves until they get to a certain age, and they internalize the messages we tell them. I've seen videos like this all the time
